UI Designer - London = £65,000
A fast growing and award winning service provider urgently need a a User Interface Designer to create and enhance the visual components of their powerful, responsive web-based applications. Their solutions are complex in nature, dealing with business workflows, large datasets that need to be filtered, sorted and aggregated into highly functional and visually appealing components and graphs. They strive to streamline the complexity on the front end for our users. Although this role is focussed on visual design and functional ease of use, candidates will have the opportunity to input in all stages of the Agile product development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and user journey flow all the way through to end user acceptance testing.Main Technologies:
* Competent using visual design tools such as Sketch, Invision and Zeplin
* Project tools - Jira, ConfluenceThe role encompasses the following activities:
* Ownership of UX and UI design for all applications
* Establish design guidelines, best practices and style guide for applications to ensure the use of modern techniques and components to enhance the user experience
* Design UIs that are intuitive and natural for the end user to be effective by understanding the functionality being delivered and the user's business drivers. This should result in UIs that require minimum user training.
* Ensure that cross product features or components are consistent for all products and product features, and that we re-use designs wherever possible to ensure the usability of applications
* Further define and maintain the existing standard set of reusable components that can be easily tracked to their implemented versions, working closely with Front End developers to ensure they continue to make full use of these components
* Contribute to application design workshops with the product owner / product manager / developers and clients, ensuring that the following outputs are produced: User journey workflows, Wireframes, Full colour designs, Interactive prototypes.
* Obtain a deep understanding of user practices and behaviours from working closely with product owners and design partner group meetings
* Create visual designs for applications to a high standard, remembering to consider screen resolutions that will need to be supported and that the brand is recognisable by a standard style guide
* Before development, test and refine designs through running feedback sessions with product owner / product manager / developers and clients
* Ensure that design process is followed at all times especially with relevant sign offs from technology and business teams before any development work is started
