UI / Front-end Developer - London - 300p/d-400p/d

A worldwide brand and fast-growing media and entertainment company have big expansion plans for their development team. They are looking for UI / Front-end Developer's responsible for building high quality front-end features for their associated sites and platform. The UI Developer will work closely with product managers, UX designers, software developers and testers to achieve this outcome within an agile software development framework. It is the UI Developer's responsibility to deliver and maintain global styles, plus web and accessibility standards across the various sites. This role involves developing templates and pages for Java (freemarker), Ruby and PHP applications.

Key skills / Experience:

* Experience with Agile methodology and working within Agile development teams
* Strong understanding of web standards, accessibility (WCAG1/2) and usability
* Strong understanding of XHTML, including semantic mark-up and validation
* Extensive knowledge of CSS, including CSS driven layout and debugging for rapid development; experience with development tools such as Firebug
* Strong Working Knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., jQuery, prototype)
* Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility, with a strong knowledge of all supported browsers. (IE, Firefox, Safari)
* Understanding and practical application of SEO and browser-side performance considerations.
* Experience with User-Centred Design
* trong experience in an interactive media design environment
* "Production ready" user interface development experience
